Also a soundtrack from a popular cartoon feature, A Cosmic Christmas mixes the current space fad with a traditional Christmas theme.

Three space wanderers land on Earth to learn the meaning of the bright star in the sky. A youngster tries to explain to them the Star of Bethlehem and the whole idea behind Christmas, but the aliens can see only crass commercialism and selfishness around them.

The little plot unfolds to a happy ending. At the climax, the aliens learn that the true meaning of Christmas is based on helping one’s fellow being.

Naturally, the implications of commercialism will be lost on youngsters, but the over-all message of the story will be clear.

Singer Sylvia Tyson provides a pleasant narration as well as two original songs – Why Don’t They Look To The Stars and The Way That Christmas Used To Be.

Tyson has demonstrated a knack for songwriting thought her solo recording career, and her contributions on Cosmic Christmas suffer only in their brevity.
