Animation cels purchased would sometimes include colour copies of backgrounds used, to give a better look for the cels. They weren’t usually the correct backgrounds, but they were still wonderful pieces of art. I wonder what happened with the originals, but I’m still amazed how much original material is still floating around out there after fifty years.
